Pay the annual custodial charge by 30 April of each financial year, or within 30 days of the depository's bill. An issuer admitted to both depositories makes two payments. CDSL can charge penal interest of up to 12% a year for delay.

Pay by 30 April of each financial year. The previous financial year's average folio count sets the charge.

Pay within 30 days from the date of the bill if that date is later.

Applies when: Thirty days from the bill is later than 30 April.

Who must comply

  • Every issuer whose securities are admitted to NSDL
  • Every issuer whose securities are admitted to CDSL

Carve-outs

  • Temporary ISINs are excluded from the folio count
  • The charge is pro-rated for a further issue during the year

Before you file

  • Get the previous financial year's average folio count for each ISIN.
  • Leave temporary ISINs out of the count.
  • Check the nominal value band that sets the minimum charge.
  • Check the date on each depository bill.

How to file

CDSL charges penal interest on a late payment, up to 12% a year.

Common questions

Is this the annual listing fee?

No. This depository charge has a current 30 April source. The sweep did not verify 30 April as the annual listing fee date.

Why can there be two payments?

NSDL and CDSL levy the charge separately. An issuer admitted to both pays both.
