There is no common RBI annual date for LEI renewal. A covered entity must keep its LEI current and must not let it lapse; the renewal anniversary is set by its GLEIF or Local Operating Unit registration. For non-derivative foreign-exchange transactions, the RBI threshold is USD 1 million equivalent or above.
The RBI consolidated the earlier LEI circulars into the Unique Identifiers in Financial Markets Directions on 27 March 2026. Form ECB 1 now also carries an LEI field.
