एत्द्वारा जनम् नजलजखत आदेि करती म , नांत:-
1.
संजिप् त िी्धक रर प्रारंभ - (1) इस आदेि कयोग घरेलू, वाजणजज्यक रर इसी प्रकार के जव्ुत उपकरण सुरिा (गुणवत् ता जनयं्ण)
आदेि, 2024 कमा िाएगा।
(2) यम घरेलू, वाजणजज्यक या संान उपययोगग वाले ऐसे सभी जव्ुत उपकरण पर लागू मयोगगा, जिनकी रेटेड वयोगल्टेि 250 वयोगल्ट ससंगल
फेि प्रत्यावती धारा या 415 वयोगल्ट थ्री फेि प्रत्यावती धारा से अजधक नमीं मयोगगी रर ियोग भारतीय ंानक ब्यूरयोग अजधजनयं के तमत
िारी दकसी अन्य गुणवत्ता जनयं्ण आदेि के दायरे ंें नमीं आते मैं।
(3) यम आदेि िासकीय रािप् ंें इसके प्रकािन की तारीख से लागू मयोगगा।

वस्ट्तुओं या सांान कयोग वाजणजज्यक रूप से बेिा नमीं िाएगा रर उन्में स्ट्क्र प के रूप ंें जनपटान दकया िाएगा तवा जवजनंाधता ऐसे ंाल

ORDER
New Delhi, the 17th September, 2024
S.O. 4098(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act,
2016 (11 of 2016), the Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, is of the opinion that it is
necessary or expedient so to do in the public interest, hereby makes the following order, namely:-
1. Short title, application and commencement.-(1) This Order may be called the Safety of Household, Commercial
and Similar Electrical Appliances (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
(2) It shall apply to all electrical appliance intended for household, commercial or similar application with rated
voltage not exceeding 250V single phase alternating current or 415V three phase alternating current and which do
not fall under the scope of any other Quality Control Order issued under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act.
(3) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Compulsory use of Standard Mark.-Goods or articles specified in column (2) of the Table shall conform to the
corresponding Indian Standard specified in column (3) of the Table and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence
from the Bureau as per Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment)
Regulations, 2018:
Provided that nothing in this Order shall apply to goods or articles manufactured domestically for export:
Provided further that small enterprises and micro enterprises, as defined under the Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006) shall conform to such Indian Standards from the date specified in the
corresponding entry under columns (6) and (7) of the Table respectively:
Provided also that nothing in this Order shall apply for two hundred numbers of goods or articles imported for the
purpose of research and development by manufacturers of household and similar electrical appliances per year with
the condition that such imported goods and articles shall not be sold commercially and can be disposed of as a scrap
and the manufacturers shall maintain a year-wise record of the goods or articles and furnish the same, if so desired to
the Central Government.
3. Certification and enforcement authority.-The Bureau shall be the certifying and enforcing authority for the
goods or articles specified in column (2) of the Table.
4. Penalty for Contravention.-Any person who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under
the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
