Subject: Amendment in Import Policy Condition of Sulfadiazine API covered under Chapter 29 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule-I (Import Policy)-regarding.
S.O. (E): In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 and Section 5 of Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby amends the Import Policy Condition of the following HS codes covered under Chapter 29 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule – I (Import Policy) with immediate effect, as under:

Effect of the Notification:
Import of Sulfadiazine API under Chapter 29 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule – I (Import Policy), having a CIF value of less than Rs. 1,774 per kg, is 'Restricted' till 30.09.2026, with immediate effect. However, Sulfadiazine API imported by Advance Authorization holders, EOUs, and units in SEZs shall be exempted from MIP condition.
This is issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry.
