The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has constituted an Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) under the Department of Commerce to address supply chain disruptions resulting from geopolitical developments. The IMG is mandated to monitor global supply chain trends, evaluate vulnerabilities in exports and critical imports, facilitate inter-departmental coordination, and engage with stakeholders to propose mitigation strategies. Furthermore, an internal mechanism has been established within the DGFT to track issues in real-time. Trade and industry stakeholders are invited to report specific supply chain disruption concerns to the DGFT via the designated email address to facilitate consolidation, monitoring, and inter-agency coordination.

Subject: Operationalisation of Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) for Supply Chain Resilience – regarding.
In pursuance of the decision taken in the meeting held on March 02, 2026 under the Chairmanship of Special Secretary, Department of Commerce & DG, DGFT to assess the impact of ongoing geopolitical developments on India's exports, particularly supply chain disruptions, an Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) for Supply Chain Resilience has been constituted under the Department of Commerce.

The IMG will monitor global developments affecting supply chains, assess sector-wise export and critical import vulnerabilities, facilitate coordination among Ministries/Departments, engage with stakeholders including Export Promotion Councils, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures, wherever required.

An internal coordination mechanism has also been established within DGFT to enable real-time tracking of issues and inter-agency coordination.

Trade and industry stakeholders may bring to notice specific issues relating to supply chain disruptions for consolidation and monitoring at adg1-dgft@gov.in for examination and appropriate coordination.
This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
