Subject- : Observance of Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026 - Guidelines and Calendar of Activities - reg.
In pursuance of directions issued by the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (MoJS) and Department of Urban Development (MoHUA), Govt. of India vide Joint D.O. Letter No. S-18020/47/2026-SBM-II-DDWS dated 07th September 2026, it is informed that the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 Campaign will be observed across all ESIC Offices, Hospitals, and Educational Institutions from 17th September to 2nd October 2026, culminating on 2nd October 2026 as Swachh Bharat Diwas. The theme for SHS 2026 is "Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat".
The Competent Authority has approved the implementation of the following key focus areas, thematic calendar of activities, and institutional arrangements across all ESIC field formations:
The SHS 2026 campaign is structured around five core pillars:
A simultaneous nationwide Shramdaan—"Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath"—is scheduled for 1st October 2026 at 8:00 AM. All officers and staff members across ESIC establishments are requested to participate in voluntary cleanliness drives at their respective locations.
Field units shall execute activities in accordance with the campaign timeline below:
Each RO / SRO / Hospital / Medical Institution shall immediately designate a Nodal Officer (preferably the senior-most officer) to coordinate campaign activities.
All activities, participant counts, and high-resolution "Before & After" photographs must be uploaded daily to the official SHS 2026 portal (https://swachhatahiseva.gov.in/). Additionally, daily progress reports must be emailed to general-hq@esic.nic.in and pr.branch-hq@esic.nic.in.
An effective 360-degree media plan utilizing social media (tagging @SwachhBharatGov, @MoHUA_India, @MoJSDDWS), local press, and digital displays should be implemented to maximize visibility.
Offices in areas affected by natural calamities/flooding may adapt activities based on ground conditions, integrating hygiene and sanitation with flood relief measures.
