विषय: मानसिक स्वास्थ्य से संबंधित विषयों के लिए विशेषज्ञ समिति
Re: Expert committee for matters related to mental health

बीमा कवरेज की दृष्टि से ध्यान देने योग्य एक महत्वपूर्ण क्षेत्र मानसिक स्वास्थ्य है। मानसिक बीमारियों और अन्य संबंधित पहलुओं को कवर करने के लिए अभिकल्पित उत्पादों के साथ व्यवहार करते समय बीमा परिप्रेक्ष्य से स्थितियों के प्रकार, चिकित्साओं के प्रकार आदि जैसे विभिन्न पहलुओं की समग्र जाँच आवश्यक है। अतः मानसिक स्वास्थ्य और बीमा से संबंधित विषयों पर आईआरडीएआई को परामर्श देने के लिए विशेषज्ञों की एक समिति गठित करने का निर्णय लिया गया है।

One of the important areas that needs attention from the point of view of insurance coverage is mental health. A holistic examination of the various aspects involved such as types of conditions, types of treatments etc from the insurance perspective is necessary when dealing with products designed to cover mental illnesses and other related aspects. Therefore, it has been decided to constitute a committee of experts to advise IRDAI on matters related to mental health and insurance.

क. उक्त समिति का गठन निम्नानुसार होगा:
A. The constitution of the Committee shall be as follows:

1. डा. प्रतिमा मूर्ति, निदेशक, एनआईएमएचएएनएस, बेंगलूरु, अध्यक्ष

3. डा. एस. कल्याणसुन्दरम, व्यवसायी मनोरोग-चिकित्सक, बेंगलूरु, सदस्य

ख. उक्त समिति के विचारार्थ विषय निम्नानुसार होंगे:
B. The Terms of Reference of the Committee shall be as follows:

1. मानसिक बीमारियों के लिए बीमा उत्पादों के अंतर्गत प्रस्तावित / प्रस्तावित किये जानेवाले कवरेजों पर विशेषज्ञ परामर्श
   Expert advice on coverages offered/to be offered under insurance products, for mental illnesses
2. चिकित्सा क्षेत्र के परिप्रेक्ष्य से मानसिक बीमारियों से संबंधित विषयों पर शब्दावली, संकल्पना और इसी प्रकार की बातों पर विशेषज्ञ परामर्श / निविष्टियाँ
   Expert advice/inputs on terminology, concept and the like on matters relating to mental illnesses from the medical domain perspective
3. बीमा क्षेत्र के परिप्रेक्ष्य से मानसिक बीमारियों से संबंधित विभिन्न पहलुओं पर परामर्श
   Advice on various aspects relating to mental illnesses from the insurance domain perspective
4. मानसिक अस्वस्थता की विषय-वस्तु से संबंधित कोई अन्य संगत पहलू
   Any other relevant aspect related to the subject matter of mental illness

उक्त समिति इस आदेश की तारीख से दो वर्ष की अवधि के लिए प्रचलन में होगी।
The Committee shall be in force for a period of two years from the date of this order.
