Life insurers must ensure the quick and timely settlement of life insurance claims for victims of the Phethai Cyclone in Andhra Pradesh and the Gaja Cyclone in Tamil Nadu. Insurers must register all reported claims and settle eligible claims expeditiously. Insurers must use simplified processes and relax usual requirements when necessary. Insurers must publicize the details of special camps and offices, report publicity activities to the Authority, and submit a weekly progress report on settled claims every Monday.

Sub: Guidelines on settlement of Insurance Claims of victims of recent Cyclones in the states of Andhra Pradesh (Phethai Cyclone) and Tamil Nadu (Gaja Cyclone)
As a result of the Cyclones in the states of Andhra Pradesh (Phethai Cyclone) and Tamil Nadu (Gaja cyclone), there are reports of loss of human lives and loss of belongings in these states. In order to extend every possible facilitation in quick and timely settlement of life insurance claims, you are advised to take the following actions immediately:
