The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India applies the circular on premium rate modifications mutatis mutandis to all health insurance companies. Health insurers offer products under these revised rules. The rules follow the revised commission and remuneration structure and reward system. The authority issues these instructions under Regulation 2 (i) (o) of IRDAI (Health Insurance) Regulations, 2016.

Re: Modification in premium rates due to revised Commission/Remuneration Structure and introduction of Reward System
Reference is invited to Circular No. IRDAI/NL/CIR/F&U/060/03/2017 dated 22nd March 2017 on Modification in premium rates due to revised Commission/Remuneration Structure and introduction of Reward System issued to all General Insurers. It is clarified that the within referred circular is mutatis mutandis applicable to insurance products offered by all Health Insurance Companies also.
These instructions are issued under the powers vested in Regulation 2 (i) (o) of IRDAI (Health Insurance) Regulations, 2016
