Check the official recordThe National Stock Exchange of India implements additional pre-trade risk controls for NNF ID and Algo ID validations. The Exchange rejects orders that do not meet specific digit requirements for NNF IDs or contain restricted Algo ID values. Members must ensure order messages comply with these validation rules to prevent rejection. The Exchange sends an error message to the NNF user when a rejection occurs. Members must refer to the NNF API protocol version 9.51 for error code and message details. These requirements apply to all trading members effective October 12, 2026.

This is in partial modification to item no. 1.16 G regarding Pre-emptive order cancellation on account of NNF ID-Algo ID validations, of Exchange consolidated circular NSE/FAOP/73928 dated April 28, 2026.
Members are requested to note below additional validations between NNF Id and Algo Id and in case of mismatch, Exchange shall reject such orders:
The identification of 12 digits and 13^th digit of NNF ID are explained in Exchange circular NSE/INVG/73992 dated April 30, 2026.
Members are requested to refer NNF API protocol (FO version 9.51) for the details of the NNF error code and error message. (website link: https://www.nseindia.com/trade/platform-services-neat-trading-system-protocols )
The circular shall be effective from October 12, 2026.
