The Reserve Bank of India proposes consolidated Directions for Priority Sector Lending targets and classification. The draft Directions apply to Commercial Banks, Small Finance Banks, Local Area Banks, Regional Rural Banks, and Urban Co-operative Banks. The Reserve Bank invites public comments on these draft documents. Stakeholders must submit feedback by November 26, 2026. They submit comments through the Connect 2 Regulate website section or by email. The Reserve Bank will repeal existing instructions not included in the final consolidated Directions. It will notify the repeal separately.

Consolidation of Instructions Related to Priority Sector Lending – Drafts for Comments
As part of the ongoing effort towards consolidation of various instructions issued from time to time, the Reserve Bank has undertaken a review of the extant guidelines relating to Priority Sector Lending (PSL) and proposes to issue Directions on the subject RE-wise.
Further, instructions which have not been included in the consolidated draft Directions would be repealed consequent to the issuance of the Directions. The same will be notified separately.
