RBI announces OMO Sale of Government of India Securities
On a review of current and evolving liquidity conditions, the Reserve Bank has decided to conduct OMO sale auctions of Government of India securities for an aggregate amount of ₹1,00,000 crore in three tranches of ₹50,000 crore, ₹25,000 crore, and ₹25,000 crore to be held on September 17, 2026, September 21, 2026, and September 28, 2026, respectively, through multi-security auction using the multiple price method.
- The securities being offered for sale in the auction to be held on September 17, 2026, are as below:

- The Reserve Bank reserves the right to:
- decide on the quantum of sale of individual securities.
- accept bids for less than the aggregate amount.
- sell marginally higher/lower than the aggregate amount due to rounding-off.
- accept or reject any or all the bids either wholly or partially without assigning any reason.

Eligible participants should submit their bids in electronic format on the Reserve Bank of India Core Banking Solution (E-Kuber) system between 9:30 am and 10:30 am on September 17, 2026. Only in the event of system failure, physical bids would be accepted. Such physical bid should be submitted to Financial Markets Operations Department (email, Phone no: 022-22630982) in the prescribed form obtainable from RBI website (https://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/BS_ViewForms.aspx) before 10:30 am.

The result of the auction will be announced on the same day and successful participants should ensure availability of funds in their current account by 12 noon on September 18, 2026.
