RBI to conduct 26-day Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) auction under LAF

On a review of the current and evolving liquidity conditions, it has been decided to conduct a Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) auction on Friday, September 11, 2026, as under:

2. The operational guidelines for the auction will be same as given in Reserve Bank’s Press Release 2019-2020/1947 dated February 13, 2020.

3. Participants will have an option for premature reversal of the amount lent in the above auction, and the operational guidelines for the same are as given below:

• i. Requests for premature reversal can be placed only through the E-Kuber portal during 09:00–17:00 hours on working days in Mumbai.
• ii. Partial reversal of a bid will be allowed.
• iii. Once a request for premature reversal is placed in E-Kuber portal, the same has also to be intimated via email to the Financial Markets Operations Department (Ph: 022-2263 0982 / 2263 0008).
• iv. The settlement of premature reversal will take place at the ‘start of day’ on the next working day following the date of placement of request.
• v. On the date of reversal, current account of the participant with the Reserve Bank will be credited with the amount of principal and accrued interest for the lent period. The securities offered as collateral by the RBI will be debited from the participant’s reverse repo constituent SGL account.
• vi. Request for premature reversal can be placed at least two working days prior to the original date of reversal.
