SEBI allowed digitally signed FPI Powers of Attorney, opened KRA systems to IFSCA-regulated entities, and merged mutual-fund registration forms.
The week in brief
What changed
From 20 August, FPIs may give custodians a Power of Attorney signed under the Information Technology Act, 2000. Notarisation, apostille or consularisation is no longer required for that digital form.
IFSCA is specified under KRA Regulation 16A(1), so IFSCA-regulated entities may use SEBI KRAs for client KYC, including FPI data-security rules in the FPI Master Circular.
After the SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 2026, sponsors and AMCs file a single consolidated Form A instead of separate Forms A, C and D for in-principle and final mutual-fund registration.
