BSE identifies specific securities for inclusion under Short-Term Additional Surveillance Measure (ST-ASM) Stage I and Stage II. For Stage I securities, the margin rate becomes 50 percent or the existing margin, whichever is higher, up to a maximum of 100 percent. For Stage II securities, the margin rate becomes 100 percent or the existing margin, whichever is higher, up to a maximum of 100 percent. These margin requirements apply to all open positions as of June 29, 2026, and all new positions created from June 30, 2026. This surveillance measure operates alongside other existing exchange measures. The inclusion of a security in the framework results from market surveillance and does not constitute adverse action against the entity.
What you must do
- Apply a 50 percent margin rate or existing margin, whichever is higher, for Stage I securities.
- Apply a 100 percent margin rate or existing margin, whichever is higher, for Stage II securities.

This is further to Exchange notice no. 20240920-71 dated September 20, 2024, 20181027-1 dated October 27, 2018, 20190719-33 dated 19 Jul 2019, 20201204-56 dated 04 Dec 2020, 20230925-49 dated 25 Sep 2023 and 20240920-63 dated 20 Sep 2024 regarding revision of ASM framework.
Members are hereby requested to note that the securities as per attached Annexure I have satisfied the criteria for inclusion under ST-ASM Stage I. The applicable surveillance actions shall be as per provisions of the Short-Term Additional Surveillance Measure (ST-ASM) which are as under:
➢ Applicable rate of margin shall be 50% or existing margin whichever is higher, subject to maximum rate of margin capped at 100%, w.e.f. June 30, 2026 on all open positions as on June 29, 2026 and new positions created from June 30, 2026.
Securities as per attached Annexure I have satisfied the criteria for inclusion under ST-ASM Stage II. The applicable surveillance actions shall be as per provisions of the Short-Term Additional Surveillance Measure (ST-ASM) which are as under:
➢ Applicable margin rate shall be 100% or existing margin whichever is higher subject to maximum rate of margin capped at 100%. w.e.f. June 30, 2026 on all open positions as on June 29, 2026 and new positions created from June 30, 2026.
Market participants may note that ASM framework shall be in conjunction with all other prevailing surveillance measures being imposed by the Exchanges from time to time.
Further, it may also be noted that the shortlisting of securities under ASM is purely on account of market surveillance and it should not be construed as an adverse action against the concerned company / entity.
The Price Band of a scrip moving out of the framework shall be reinstated to the Price Band applicable to that scrip before it got shortlisted under the respective framework. This will be subject to the scrip not being shortlisted or part of any other Surveillance measure, in which case, the price band of the relevant surveillance framework will prevail.
