Investors are provided with the facility to either opt-in or opt-out of nomination through online or physical channels. Members must ensure that the prescribed forms (Annexure A for opt-in and Annexure B for opt-out) are utilized. For online submissions, the relevant declaration details must be displayed to the investor before submission, while physical submissions require duly completed and signed forms. Regulated entities are mandated to maintain these records for potential submission to RTAs, AMCs, or regulators. Members using third-party or in-house systems must implement necessary technical and operational modifications to ensure compliance.

This is with reference to Exchange Notice No. 20260716-27 dated July 16, 2026, regarding Ease of Doing Investments – Modified Norms for Nomination in Demat Accounts and Mutual Fund Folios.
In continuation of the aforesaid notice, Members are hereby informed that the Nomination (Opt-in or Opt-out) facility shall be provided to investors through either online or physical mode using the forms prescribed under Annexure A and Annexure B of the SEBI circular.
Validation Requirements for Nomination Acceptance:

Members are required to undertake the requisite developments, enhancements, and system modifications at their end well in advance of the prescribed implementation date to ensure seamless compliance with the above requirements.
