NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 21 st March, 20 18 G.S.R. 254(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules to amend the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Tax Assistant Group C Posts, Recruitment Rules, 2015, namely:- I . (i) The rules may be called The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes, T,IX AssistaI1l Group C posts, Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2018. (ii) They shall be come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Schedule to the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Tax A~~ i s t a nl Group C posts, Recruitment Rules, 2015, the following shall be amended namely- (i) In column 4: a) for the existing entries in Heading "Pay Band and Grade Pay", the words "Level in the Pay Matrix" shall be substituted. b) for the words and figures "Pay Band-I, Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2400" the word and figure " Level 4 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 25500-81100)" shall be substituted. (ii) In Column It: a) for the words and figure "Pay Band-I" the words and figure "Level 1(Rs. 18000-56900), Level 2 (Rs. 19900-63200) and LeveI3(Rs. 21700-69100) in the Pay Matrix" shall be substituted. EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Tax Assistant Group C posts, Recruitment Rules, 2015 were notified in the Gazette of India vide G.S.R. 990(E), dated 18 th Deceinber, 2015. Following the recommendations of CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2016 dated 25 th luly, 2016 the Government had issued instructions vide DoPT OM No. AB.14017/13/20L6-Estt.(RR), dated 9th August, 2016 to amend the existing Pay Band and Grade Pay by the new Pay St.rueture.
