The Central Board of Direct Taxes amends the recruitment rules for Tax Assistant Group C posts to update the pay structure. The new rules replace the previous Pay Band and Grade Pay entries with the Level in the Pay Matrix. For column 4, the rules substitute Level 4 in the Pay Matrix with a range of Rs. 25500 to 81100. For Column 11, the rules substitute Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 in the Pay Matrix. These rules come into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

G.S.R. 254(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules to amend the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Tax Assistant Group C Posts, Recruitment Rules, 2015, namely:-
EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Tax Assistant Group C posts, Recruitment Rules, 2015 were notified in the Gazette of India vide G.S.R. 990(E), dated 18th Deceinber, 2015. Following the recommendations of CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2016 dated 25th luly, 2016 the Government had issued instructions vide DoPT OM No. AB.14017/13/20L6-Estt.(RR), dated 9th August, 2016 to amend the existing Pay Band and Grade Pay by the new Pay St.rueture.
