Check the official recordThe Department of Telecommunications has amended the Unified License agreement to prohibit licensees from entering into exclusive contracts for establishing public networks to provide public telecom services or for Right of Way (RoW) with any public entity or person. The amendment introduces new definitions for 'Person' and 'Public entity' into the license agreement. 'Person' is defined to include individuals, companies, associations, or bodies of individuals, whether incorporated or not. 'Public entity' is defined to include central, state, and local government authorities, government-established bodies, and non-government entities managing public facilities as notified by the Central Government. This amendment is incorporated as part of the existing Unified License agreement, with all other terms and conditions remaining unchanged.

Subject: Amendment to Unified License for restriction to enter in exclusive contract with any public entity or any person - reg.
As per the Condition 5.1 of Chapter-I of Unified License (UL) Agreement, the Licensor reserves the right to modify at any time the terms and conditions of the License, if in the opinion of the Licensor, it is necessary or expedient to do so in public interest or in the interest of the security of the State or for the proper conduct of the telegraphs. In pursuance of this condition, the Licensor hereby appends the following in the UL Agreement:
