Licensees are advised to transition their websites and web-related services to the .IN domain, with policy details available via the official registry. Additionally, the Department has advised licensees to review the draft Legal Metrology (Indian Standard Time) Rules released by the Department of Consumer Affairs. Licensees are expected to initiate pre-emptive actions and ensure operational readiness in anticipation of these proposed rules, which mandate the synchronization of ICT systems' clocks with the Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers maintained by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) or the National Physical Laboratory (NPL).

Subject: Adoption of .IN Domains for critical and essential services and synchronize ICT systems’ clocks with the NTP servers of NIC or NPL. -Reg
Reference is invited towards the adoption of .IN domain and it is hereby advised that all websites and web related services for critical and essential services being carried out at your end may be carried out on .IN domain. In this regard, .IN domain policy can be accessed at https://www.registry.in/policies.
Further reference is also invited towards the fact that Legal Metrology under Department of Consumer Affairs has released the draft Legal Meteorology (Indian Standard Time) Rules, which are currently at consultation stage. It is hereby advised and sensitized that the draft Rules be gone through and necessary pre-emptive action(s) and readiness be initiated please.
