Sir,
National Communications Academy – Technology (NCA-T) is organising a one-week Proficiency Level-2 (PL-2) course titled “Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN)” for the In-Service DoT officers at IIT Madras from 06-10 July, 2026. The course aims to provide foundational to intermediate-level understanding of Open RAN architecture, disaggregated network elements, virtualization, interoperability, and associated policy and regulatory aspects. A brief outline of the course is attached (Annexure-I).
The training is intended to equip officers with applied knowledge of Open RAN frameworks, O-RAN Alliance architecture, virtualization concepts, and integration challenges, enabling informed decision-making in areas of technology evaluation, standardization, spectrum management, and network security within DoT and TEC.
The course has been arranged to train 20-25 officers of DoT. Boarding and Lodging facility for the participants has been arranged within IIT Campus on the payment basis, as per their approved charges.
It is therefore requested that suitable officers (up to Director level) may kindly be nominated for the above course from DoT LSAs/DoT Units/TEC/NCCS/WPC etc.
Since the program includes extensive hands-on sessions, all nominated officers are required to bring their laptops while attending the program.
