The webinar on “Smart Telecom: Role of AI/ML in Network Management & Future Transmission” aims to explore the strategic adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in making telecom networks smarter, more resilient and future-ready. Drawing upon the latest research insights, field deployments and practical frameworks from leading institutions and industry stakeholders, the webinar will serve as a platform to disseminate knowledge, foster cross-sector collaboration and highlight the evolving role of AI/ML in Network Management and Next-Generation Transmission Technologies.
Eminent speakers from IIIT Bangalore, C-DOT, and M/s Ericsson India Limited will share their insights and experiences on ongoing research, practical implementations, and real-world applications of AI/ML in Network Management and Future Transmission Technologies, with a focus on enabling smart and future-ready telecom networks.
The Target Audience of the webinar includes officers from Department of Telecom (DoT) and its Public Sector Units, Telecom Service Providers (TSPs), Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Industry forums, Academia, and other Stakeholders.

Dr. Amrita Mishra received the B.Tech. degree in electronics and communication engineering from Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, India, in 2011 and her M.Tech - PhD Dual degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, in 2018. Her Ph.D. thesis explored applications of sparse signal processing for channel estimation in coded wireless systems, millimeter wave communication, MIMO radars and cognitive radio networks. She worked as a faculty member in the Dept. of ECE at International Institute of Information Technology Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India from January 2019 - December 2020. She joined IIIT Bangalore as an assistant professor on 15^th December 2020.

Sh. Vikas Navati, a graduate in Electronics & Communication and a postgraduate in Computer Science, has an experience of more than 2 decades in the field of “Network Management Solutions” in C-DoT - The premier R&D Organization of Ministry of Communications, Government of India. He has contributed activity in the projects of National importance like 'BharatNet' - a Government initiative to connect all villages of India with Optical Network. He has contributed in the design, development and deployment of Centralized Network Management Solution for monitoring and managing the pan India geographically deployed BharatNet Network.

Sh. Abhishek Sarkar is a Senior AI researcher at Ericsson Research in Bangalore, working on reinforcement learning for robotics and autonomous networks, with a background in causal inference and graph neural networks. His research explores how large multi-modal foundation models can be combined with learning-based control, and what they contribute to decision-making in physical systems. Alongside this, he also works on foundation models for wireless communications. Abhishek has more than 15 years of experience working with machine learning technologies and has a MSc. in Applied Statistics and Informatics from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
