Subject: Intensification of Aadhaar Seeding of Insured Persons and Their Beneficiaries
ESIC Headquarters has issued instructions from time to time regarding Aadhaar seeding of Insured Persons (IPs) and their beneficiaries. With the implementation of the Code on Social Security, 2020, Aadhaar-based identification and authentication have assumed greater significance in establishing the identity of IPs and beneficiaries and facilitating access to medical and cash benefits. Face Authentication Technology (FAT) has also been introduced to facilitate Aadhaar authentication.
A review of the progress of Aadhaar seeding indicates that the coverage achieved so far is unsatisfactory and requires concerted efforts for improvement. Accordingly, all Regional Offices (ROs) and Sub-Regional Offices (SROs) are directed to intensify Aadhaar-seeding activities through a structured, systematic and result-oriented approach to maximise coverage of IPs and their beneficiaries.
In continuation of the earlier instructions regarding the establishment of Aadhaar-seeding kiosks, all ROs/SROs shall ensure their effective functioning and undertake the following measures:
Regional Directors, Joint Directors (In-charge), Deputy Directors (In-charge) and Medical Superintendents shall ensure effective implementation of these instructions, closely monitor progress and take necessary corrective measures wherever required, in addition to ensuring compliance with the instructions already issued by Headquarters.
The Zonal ICs shall monitor this progress on a fortnightly basis with a report to Headquarters on the progress made within their Zones field office wise. The report should be sent by 7th of every month and last working day if 7th happens to be a holiday.
This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
