ADVISORY

Subject: Display of Food Safety Connect Mobile App QR Code/Download Link at Food Premises

In a step towards strengthening food safety surveillance and consumer empowerment, FSSAI has made the QR code of the Food Safety Connect App available on the front page of the FSSAI Licence and Registration. All Food Business Operators (FBOs), including Restaurants, Dhabas, Cafes, Eateries, and other food service establishments, are hereby advised to:

• Prominently display the License / Registration Copy containing QR code to download the Food Safety Connect mobile application at customer-visible areas within the premises, such as the entrance, billing counter, or customer seating areas etc. for being in compliance with Condition of License number 1 of FSS (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011;
• Feature the QR code/link to download the Food Safety Connect mobile application on digital assets of the food business, such as websites or online ordering platforms, wherever applicable.

3. The Food Safety Connect app, developed by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), is a user-friendly platform that allows consumers to:

• Lodge complaints regarding food safety and hygiene issues
• Report misleading claims made on food products
• Access basic information about licensed/registered FBOs;
• Stay informed about food safety initiatives and alerts

4. Importantly, when a complaint is lodged through the app, it is automatically routed to the concerned jurisdictional authority of the food business. This ensures prompt redressal and minimizes delays in addressing food safety grievances.

5. FBOs are encouraged to actively support this initiative by ensuring wide visibility of the app QR code within their establishments and promoting its use among customers. The QR code and download link for the Food Safety Connect mobile app are provided in Annexure I.

विषय: खाद्य प्रतिष्ठानों में 'फूड सेफ्टी कनेक्ट' मोबाइल ऐप के क्यूआर कोड / डाउनलोड लिंक के प्रदर्शन के संबंध में।

खाद्य संरक्षा निगरानी को सुदृढ़ करने और उपभोक्ता सशक्तिकरण को बढ़ावा देने की दिशा में एक कदम के रूप में, भारतीय खाद्य संरक्षा और मानक प्राधिकरण (FSSAI) ने 'फूड सेफ्टी कनेक्ट' मोबाइल ऐप का क्यूआर कोड FSSAI के लाइसेंस और पंजीकरण प्रमाणपत्र के पहले पृष्ठ पर उपलब्ध करा दिया है।

2. सभी खाद्य व्यवसाय संचालकों (FBOs) जैसे कि रेस्टोरेंटस, ढाबे, कैफे, ईटरीज एवं अन्य खाद्य सेवा प्रतिष्ठानों को निम्नलिखित के लिए परामर्श दिया जाता है:

• लाइसेंस / पंजीकरण प्रमाणपत्र जिसमें ऐप डाउनलोड के लिए क्यूआर कोड सम्मिलित है, को उपभोक्ताओं के दृष्टिगोचर क्षेत्रों में जैसे कि प्रवेश द्वार, बिलिंग काउंटर या ग्राहकों के बैठने के स्थान आदि पर प्रमुखता से प्रदर्शित करें, ताकि यह एफएसएस (खाद्य व्यवसायों का लाइसेंस और पंजीकरण) विनियम, 2011 की शर्त संख्या 1 का अनुपालन सुनिश्चित कर सके;
• खाद्य व्यवसाय के डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म जैसे कि वेबसाइट या ऑनलाइन ऑर्डरिंग पोर्टल्स पर भी ऐप डाउनलोड के क्यूआर कोड / लिंक को प्रदर्शित करें (जहां लागू हो)।

3. FSSAI द्वारा विकसित 'फूड सेफ्टी कनेक्ट' ऐप एक उपयोगकर्ता-अनुकूल प्लेटफॉर्म है, जो उपभोक्ताओं को निम्नलिखित सुविधाएं प्रदान करता है:

• खाद्य संरक्षा और स्वच्छता से संबंधित शिकायत दर्ज करना;
• खाद्य उत्पादों पर किए गए भ्रामक दावों की रिपोर्ट करना;
• लाइसेंसधारी / पंजीकृत खाद्य व्यवसायों की बुनियादी जानकारी प्राप्त करना;
• खाद्य संरक्षा पहलों और अलर्ट्स से अद्यतन रहना।

4. विशेष रूप से, जब ऐप के माध्यम से कोई शिकायत दर्ज की जाती है, तो वह स्वतः संबंधित प्राधिकरण को अग्रेषित हो जाती है, जिससे त्वरित निवारण सुनिश्चित होता है और शिकायतों के समाधान में देरी की संभावना कम हो जाती है।

5. सभी खाद्य व्यवसाय संचालकों से अनुरोध है कि वे इस पहल को सक्रिय रूप से समर्थन दें, अपने प्रतिष्ठानों में ऐप के क्यूआर कोड को प्रमुखता से प्रदर्शित करें और ग्राहकों को इसके उपयोग के लिए प्रोत्साहित करें। ऐप का क्यूआर कोड एवं डाउनलोड लिंक परिशिष्ट-I में संलग्न है।
