Check the official recordThe National Stock Exchange of India Limited updates the quantity freeze limits for specific index futures and options contracts. The previous computation methodology for these limits no longer applies to indices. Members must use the new fixed quantity freeze limits for NIFTY, BANKNIFTY, FINNIFTY, MIDCPNIFTY, NIFTYNXT50, and NIFTYFPI. Members must update their trading applications with the latest contract files from the Extranet server or the official website before trading on the effective date. These changes take effect on October 05, 2026.

Quantity Freeze Limits for Indices
This is w.r.t chapter 1.9 Quantity freeze for futures & options contracts in F&O consolidated circular no. NSE/FAOP/73928 dated April 28, 2026. Members are required to note that the computation methodology mentioned in the aforesaid circular will no longer be applicable on indices and the below mentioned quantity freeze limits for indices shall be applicable w.e.f. October 05, 2026
