सा.का.जन. 790(अ).––केंद्रीय सरकार, बैंककारी जिजनयमन अजधजनयम, 1949 (1949 का 10) की धारा 45यक,
धारा 45यग, धारा 45यड. और धारा 56 के साथ पठित धारा 52 द्वारा प्रित्त िजियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, भारतीय ठरििव
बैंक से परामिव करने के पश्चात् और बैंककारी कंपनी (नामजनिेिन) जनयम 1985 और सहकारी बैंक (नामजनिेिन)
जनयम 1985 को, उन बातों के जसिाय अजधक्ांत करते हुए, जिन्हें ऐसे अजधक्मण से पूिव दकया गया है या करने का लोप
दकया गया है, जनम्नजलजखत जनयम बनाती है, अथावत् :-
1.संजिप्त नाम और प्रारंभ.– (1) इन जनयमों का संजिप्त नाम बैंककारी कंपनी (नामजनिेिन) जनयम 2025 है ।
(2) ये तारीख 1 निंबर, 2025 को प्रिृत्त होंगे ।
2. जनिेपों की बाबत नामजनिेिन. – (1) एक या अजधक व्यजियों के नाम में दकसी बैंककारी कंपनी द्वारा धाठरत दकसी
जनिेप की बाबत, यथाजस्ट्थजत, जनिेपक या सभी जनिेपकों द्वारा जमलकर दकया िाने िाला नामजनिेिन, एक या अजधक
व्यजियों के पि में ककंतु चार से अनजधक अनुक्मि: या समसामजयक रुप से दकया िा सकेगा ।
(2) नामजनिेिन जनम्नजलजखत में से दकसी एक में दकया िाएगा, -
(क) इन जनयमों से उपाबद्ध नामजनिेिन प्ररुप; या

(ख) इलैक्राजनक या जडजिटल मोड (“ई-नामजनिेिन”) यदि बैंककारी कंपनी ने ऐसी सुजिधा उपलब्ध कराई हो ।
(3) बैंककारी कंपनी ई-नामजनिेिन की अनुज्ञा तब ही िे सकेगी, यदि, िह –
(क) यथाजस्ट्थजत, जनिेपक या सभी जनिेपकों को, चार से अनजधक एक या अजधक व्यजियों को नामजनिेजित करने के
जलए, अनुक्मि: या समसामजयक रुप से सिम बनाता है;
(ख) नामजनिेिन प्ररुप या ई-नामजनिेिन में जिजहत सभी आिश्यक ब्यौरे अजभप्राप्त करता है;
(ग) यह सुजनजश्चत करता है दक नामजनिेिन जनिेपक के प्रत्यय पत्र को अजधप्रमाजणत, जिजधमान्य और पुजि करता है;
और
(घ) इसमें दकए गए सभी नामजनिेिन के जलए जनिेपकों को सतकव करने की प्रणाली है ।
(4) नामजनिेिन के अजधप्रमाणन की पद्धजतयों में जनम्नजलजखत सजममजलत होंगे –
(क) इलैक्राजनक हस्ट्तािर;
(ख) इलैक्राजनक अजधप्रमाणन तकनीक िो जिश्वसनीय हो और सूचना प्रौद्योजगकी अजधजनयम, 2000 की िूसरी अनुसूची में
जिजनर्िवि हो; और
(ग) इंटरनेट या मोबाइल बैंककारी अनुप्रयोग:
परंतु अजधप्रमाणन की (क) और ख पद्धजतयों की ििा में, एकल कारक अजधप्रमाणन िो नामजनिेिन करने िाले जनिेपक
के प्रत्यय पत्र को जिजधमान्य और पुजि करता है, पयावप्त होगा और पद्धजत (ग) की ििा में, न्यूनतम िो कारक अजधप्रमाणन
िो नामजनिेिन करने िाले जनिेपक के प्रत्यय पत्र को जिजधमान्य या पुजि करता है, अजनिायव होगा ।
(5) नामजनिेिन केिल उस जनिेप की बाबत दकया िा सकेगा िो जनिेपक की व्यजिगत हैजसयत में धाठरत हो न दक दकसी
पि के धारक के रुप में दकसी प्रजतजनजध की हैजसयत में या अन्यथा ।
(6) िहां नामजनिेजिती अियस्ट्क है, िहां यथाजस्ट्थजत, जनिेपक या सभी जनिेपक जमलकर, नामजनिेिन करते समय, दकसी
अन्य व्यजि को िो अियस्ट्क न हो, यथाजस्ट्थजत, जनिेपक या सभी जनिेपकों की मृत्यु की ििा में, नामजनिेजिती की
अियस्ट्कता के िौरान नामजनिेजिती की ओर से जनिेप की रकम प्राप्त करने के जलए जनयुि कर सकेगा या सकेंगे ।
(7) दकसी अियस्ट्क के नाम में दकए गए जनिेप की ििा में, नामजनिेिन दकसी ऐसे व्यजि द्वारा दकया िाएगा िो अियस्ट्क
की ओर से कायव करने के जलए जिजधपूिवक हकिार हो ।
(8) जनिेपक या सभी जनिेपकों द्वारा जमलकर दकया िाने िाला पूिविती नामजनिेिन या ई-नामजनिेिन में फेरफार या
रद्दकरण पश्चातिती नामजनिेिन या ई-नामजनिेिन के माध्यम से दकया िाएगा ।
(9) प्रत्येक पश्चातिती नामजनिेिन, यथाजस्ट्थजत, पूिविती नामजनिेिन को रद्द कर िेगा या उसमें फेरफार कर िेगा ।
(10) यथापूिोि, नामजनिेिन , नामजनिेिन का रद्दकरण या नामजनिेिन में फेरफार दकसी भी समय जिसके िौरान जनिेप
दकसी बैंककारी कंपनी द्वारा, यथाजस्ट्थजत, जनिेपक या जनिेपकों के नाम में धाठरत है, दकया िा सकेगा ।
(11) एक जनिेपक से अजधक के नाम में धाठरत दकसी जनिेप की ििा में, दकसी नामजनिेिन का रद्दकरण या उसमें फेरफार
तब तक जिजधमान्य नहीं होगा िब तक दक यह सभी जनिेपकों द्वारा नहीं दकया िाता ।
(12) बैंककारी कंपनी संबंजधत जनिेपक या जनिेपकों को नामजनिेिन प्ररुप या ई-नामजनिेिन फाइल करने और
नामजनिेिन के रद्दकरण या फेरफार के तथ्यों को भी जलजखत में या इलैक्राजनक या जडजिटल मोड में अजभस्ट्िीकृजत िेगा ।
(13) समयक रुप से संपूठरत नामजनिेिन प्ररुप या ई-नामजनिेिन या नामजनिेिन का पश्चातिती रद्दकरण या फेरफार
बैंककारी कंपनी की बजहयों में भौजतक रुप से या इलैक्राजनक रुप से रजिस्ट्रीकृत दकया िाएगा ।
(14) नामजनिेिन या नामजनिेिन का रद्दकरण या नामजनिेिन में फेरफार का केिल जनिेप के निीकरण के कारण प्रिृत्त
रहना समाप्त नहीं हो िाएगा ।
(15) यदि, यथाजस्ट्थजत,व्यजि या व्यजियों का समूह जिसने जनिेप की बाबत नामजनिेिन दकया है, िह चाहता है दक उस
नामजनिेिन को उसी बैंककारी कंपनी में उसके या उनके अन्य खातों में जिस्ट्ताठरत दकया िाए तो बैंककारी कंपनी को उि
प्रभाि के जलए अनुरोध दकया िा सकेगा और एक बार बैंककारी कंपनी द्वारा स्ट्िीकार दकए िाने पर यह माना िाएगा दक
उन खातों में से प्रत्येक के जलए पृथक नामजनिेिन दकया गया है ।

(16) यदि, भूल द्वारा या अन्यथा, नामजनिेिन चार व्यजियों से अजधक के पि में नामजनिेिन प्ररुप में दकया गया है तो क्म
में आने िाले पहले चार व्यजियों के नाम मान्य दकए िाएंगे ।
3. सुरजित अजभरिा में िस्ट्तुओं की बाबत नामजनिेिन. – (1) दकसी बैंककारी कंपनी के पास सुरजित अजभरिा में रखी गई
िस्ट्तुओं की बाबत दकसी व्यजि द्वारा दकया िाने िाला नामजनिेिन अनुक्मि: चार से अनजधक एक या अजधक व्यजियों के
पि में होगा ।
(2) जनयम 2 के उपजनयम (2) से उपजनयम (16) सुरजित अजभरिा में रखी गई िस्ट्तुओं के संबंध में नामजनिेिनों के जलए
यथािश्यक पठरितवन सजहत लागू होंगे ।
4. सुरिा लाकरों की बाबत नामजनिेिन.- (1) यथाजस्ट्थजत, दकसी व्यजि या सभी व्यजियों द्वारा जमलकर दकया िाने िाला
नामजनिेिन िो लाकर भाडे पर लेते हैं, चाहे ऐसा लाकर बैंककारी कंपनी के सुरजित जनिेप िाल्ट में जस्ट्थत हो या कहीं
और, अनुक्मि: चार से अनजधक एक या अजधक व्यजियों के पि में होगा ।
(2) जनयम 2 के उपजनयम (2) से उपजनयम (16) लाकर की बाबत नामजनिेिनों के जलए यथािश्यक पठरितवन सजहत लागू
होंगे ।

#सुरजित अजभरिा या लाकर में िस्ट्तु की बाबत नामजनिेिन की ििा में इस स्ट्तंभ को हटा दिया िाना है ।
&बैंक समय समय पर ई-नामजनिेिन में इन ब्यौरों को उपांतठरत करने की अनुज्ञा िे सकेगा, यदि अपेजित हो ।
ठटप्पण :
(i) समसामजयक नामजनिेिन एक से अजधक नामजनिेजिती ककंतु चार से अनजधक के नामजनिेिन को जनर्िवि करता है
जिसका प्रजतित पठरभाजषत हो और कुल योग 100 प्रजतित हो ।
(ii) आनुक्जमक नामजनिेिन पूर्िवकता के क्म में एक व्यजि के पि में नामजनिेिन को जनर्िवि करता है और यह भी
चार नामजनिेजिजतयों तक सीजमत है; और क्म में जनम्नतर नामजनिेजिती उच्चतर क्म में नामजनिेजिती की
मृत्यु के पश्चात ही प्रभािी होगा।
(iii) उपरोि स्ट्तंभ (ि) सुरिा अजभरिा/लाकरों में िस्ट्तुओं की बाबत नामजनिेिन की ििा में लागू नहीं होता है;
(iv) जनिेप की बाबत, स्ट्तंभ (छ) और स्ट्तंभ (ि) में से केिल एक फील दकया िाना है।
(v) स्ट्तंभ (ि) में सभी नामजनिेजिजतयों का कुल प्रजतित 100 प्रजतित के बराबर होना चाजहए।
(vi) यदि एक से अजधक व्यजियों को नामजनिेजित दकया िाता है तो पूर्िवकता के क्म में स्ट्तंभ (ख) में दिए गए नामों के
क्म के अनुसार समझा िाएगा ।
3. नामजनिेिन का रद्दकरण/नामजनिेिन में फेरफार :
मैं/हम................, अद्योहस्ट्तािरी, यह घोषणा करता/करती हं/करते हैं दक उपरोि नामजनिेिन उपरोि िर्णवत सुरजित

उच् चतर हैं ।
3. नामजनिेिन उपरोि जिस्ट्तृत सभी बैंक खातों/लाकरों/िस्ट्तुओं पर लागू होगा िब तक अन्यथा जिजनर्िवि न दकया
गया हो ।
4. यह प्ररुप या इस प्ररुप में दिए गए ब्यौरे पठरजस्ट्थजतयों के अनुसार स्ट्िीकृत हो, इलैक्राजनक रुप से प्रस्ट्तुत दकए िा
सकेंगे, िहां बैंक ई- नामजनिेिन के जलए समथव बनाता है ।

5. यदि जनिेप अियस्ट्क के नाम से दकया िाता है या िस्ट्तु अियस्ट्क के नाम पर सुरजित रखी िाती है या लाकर
एकमात्र रूप से अियस्ट्क नाम में भाडे पर जलया गया है यह नामजनिेिन प्ररुप अियस्ट्क की ओर से कायव करने के
जलए जिजधपूणव रुप से हकिार व्यजि द्वारा हस्ट्तािठरत होना चाजहए ।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th October, 2025
G.S.R. 790(E).–––In exercise of the powers conferred by section 52, read with sections 45ZA, 45ZC,
45ZE and 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (10 of 1949), after consultation with the Reserve Bank of India,
and in supersession of the Banking Companies (Nomination) Rules, 1985 and the Co-operative Banks (Nomination)
Rules, 1985, except as respect things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government
hereby makes the following rules, namely: —
1. Short title and commencement. — (1) These rules may be called the Banking Companies (Nomination)
Rules, 2025.
(2) They shall come into force on the 1st day of November, 2025.
2. Nomination in respect of deposits. — (1) The nomination by the depositor, or as the case may be, all the
depositors together, in respect of a deposit held by a banking company to the credit of one or more individuals,
may be made in favour of one or more individuals, but not exceeding four, either successively or simultaneously.
(2) The nomination shall be made either in, —
(a) the Nomination Form annexed to these rules; or
(b) the electronic or digital mode (“e-nomination”) in case the banking company has made such a facility
available.
(3) A banking company can permit e-nomination only, if it, —
(a) enables the depositor, or as the case may be, all the depositors, to nominate one or more individuals not
exceeding four, either successively or simultaneously;
(b) obtains all necessary details prescribed in the Nomination Form or e-nomination;
(c) ensures that the nomination is authenticated, validating and confirming the credentials of the depositor;
and
(d) has a system of alerting the depositor for all nominations made.
(4) The methods of authentication of nomination shall include, —
(a) electronic signature;
(b) electronic authentication technique that is reliable and specified in the Second Schedule to the
Information Technology Act, 2000; and

(c) internet or Mobile banking application:
Provided that in case of methods (a) and (b) of authentication, a single factor authentication, which
validates and confirms the credentials of the depositor making the nomination shall be sufficient, and in case
of method (c), a minimum two factor authentication, that validates and confirms the credentials of the
depositor making the nomination shall be mandatory.
(5) The nomination shall be made only in respect of deposits which are held in the individual capacity of the
depositor and not in any representative capacity as the holder of an office or otherwise.
(6) Where the nominee is a minor, the depositor or, as the case may be, all the depositors together, may, while
making the nomination, appoint another individual not being a minor, to receive the amount of the deposit on
behalf of the nominee in the event of the death of the depositor or, as the case may be, all the depositors during the
minority of the nominee.
(7) In the case of a deposit made in the name of a minor, the nomination shall be made by an individual lawfully
entitled to act on behalf of the minor.
(8) The variation or cancellation of the previous nomination or e-nomination made by the depositor or all the
depositors together shall be through subsequent nomination or e-nomination.
(9) Every subsequent nomination shall cancel the previous nomination, or vary it, as the case may be.
(10) A nomination, cancellation of nomination or variation of nomination may be made as aforesaid at any time
during which the deposit is held by a banking company to the credit of the depositor or depositors, as the case may
be.
(11) In the case of a deposit held to the credit of more than one depositor, the cancellation or variation of a
nomination shall not be valid unless it is made by all the depositors.
(12) The banking company shall acknowledge in writing or in electronic or digital mode, to the concerned
depositor or depositors, the filing of the Nomination Form, or e-nomination and also the fact of cancellation or
variation of nomination.
(13) The duly completed Nomination Form or e-nomination or subsequent cancellation or variation of nomination
shall be registered in the books of the banking company, either physically or electronically.
(14) A nomination or cancellation of nomination or variation of nomination shall not cease to be in force merely
by reason of the renewal of the deposit.
(15) If an individual, or a group of individuals, as the case may be, who has made a nomination in respect of a
deposit, desires to have that nomination extended to his or their other accounts in the same banking company, a
request may be made to the said effect to the banking company, and once accepted by the banking company, it
shall be treated as if a separate nomination has been made for each of those accounts.
(16) If, by mistake or otherwise, a nomination is made in the Nomination Form in favour of more than four
individuals, the names of the first four individuals appearing in the order, shall be recognised.
3. Nomination in respect of articles in safe custody. — (1) The nomination to be made by an individual in respect
of articles left in safe custody with a banking company shall be in favour of one or more individuals not
exceeding four, successively.
(2) Sub-rules (2) to (16) of rule 2 shall apply mutatis mutandis to nominations in respect of articles kept in safe
custody.
4. Nomination in respect of safety lockers. — (1) The nomination to be made by an individual or as the case may
be, all the individuals together, who hire a locker whether such locker is located in the safe deposit vault of
banking company or elsewhere, shall be in favour of one or more individuals not exceeding four, successively.
(2) Sub-rules (2) to (16) of rule 2 shall apply mutatis mutandis to nominations in respect of lockers.

FORM FOR NOMINATION, CANCELLATION OF NOMINATION AND VARIATION

Note:
(i)
Simultaneous nomination refers to nomination of one more nominee but not exceeding four, with defined
percentage and total amounting to 100%.
(ii) Successive nomination refers to nomination in favour of one individual in order of priority and is also limited to
four nominees; and the nominee lower in the order shall become effective only after the death of the nominee in
the higher order.
(iii) Column (H) above is not applicable in case of nomination in respect of the articles in safe custody/lockers.
(iv) In respect of the deposits, out of column (G) and (H), only one column is to be filled.
(v) Total percentage across all nominees in column (H) must equal 100%.
(vi) If more than one individual is nominated, the order of priority shall be deemed to be in order in which names
appear in column (B)
3. Cancellation of Nomination/Variation of Nomination:

Instructions for Bank Customer:
1. You may nominate more than one individual, with clearly defined share percentages.
2. You may appoint successive nominees. In case of successive nomination, nomination shall be effective only
in favour of one individual in order of priority in which their name appears in above table of nomination
details. It may be noted that nomination of any nominee lower in the order of nomination shall become
effective only after the death of all the nominees whose names are higher in the order of nomination.
3. Nomination is applicable to all bank accounts/lockers/articles detailed above unless otherwise specified.
4. This form or the details in this form, as circumstances may admit, can be submitted electronically where the
bank enables e-nomination.
5. If deposit is made in the name of minor or article is left in safe custody in the name of minor or locker is
solely hired in the name of minor, this nomination form should be signed by an individual lawfully entitled to
act on behalf of the minor.
