सा.का.जन. 812(अ).––माल का भौगोजलक उपििधन (पंिीकरण और संरक्षण) जनयम, 2002 को और संिोजधत
करने के जलए माल का भौगोजलक उपििधन (पंिीकरण और संरक्षण) अजधजनयम, 1999 (1999 का 48) (जिसे इसके बाि
"अजधजनयम" कहा गया है) की धारा 87 की उप-धारा (1) की अपेक्षानुसार, कजतपय जनयमों के मसौिे को, भारत सरकार के
वाजणज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय (उद्योग संवधधन और आंतररक व्यापार जवभाग) की अजधसूचना संख्या सां.का.जन. 542 (अ)
दिनांक 11 अगस्ट्त, 2025 के द्वारा भारत के रािपत्र, असाधारण, भाग II, खंड 3, उप-खंड (i) में प्रकाजित दकया गया था,
जिसमें ऐसे सभी व्यजियों से, जिनके इससे प्रभाजवत होने की संभावना है, उि अजधसूचना को प्रकाजित करने वाले रािपत्र
की प्रजतयां, आम लोगों को उपलब्ध कराए िाने की तारीख से, तीस दिन की अवजध समाप्त होने से पूवध आपजियां और
सुझाव आमंजत्रत दकए गए थे;
और िबदक, उि अजधसूचना की प्रजतयां आम लोगों को 11 अगस्ट्त, 2025 को उपलब्ध करा िी गई थीं।
और िबदक, उि मसौिा जनयमों के संबंध में आम लोगों से प्राप्त आपजियों और सुझावों पर केंद्र सरकार द्वारा
जवचार दकया गया है।
अतः अब, माल का भौगोजलक उपििधन (पंिीकरण और संरक्षण) अजधजनयम, 1999 (1999 का 48) की धारा 87
द्वारा प्रिि िजियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, केंद्र सरकार एतिद्वारा माल का भौगोजलक उपििधन (पंिीकरण और संरक्षण)
जनयम, 2002 में और संिोधन करने के जलए जनम्नजलजखत जनयम बनाती है, नामतः-

1.
(1) संजक्षप्त नाम और प्रारम्भ :- इन जनयमों को माल का भौगोजलक उपििधन (पंिीकरण और संरक्षण) (संिोधन)
जनयम, 2025 कहा िाएगा।
(2) ये जनयम आजधकाररक रािपत्र में इनके प्रकािन की तारीख से प्रभावी होंगे।

माल का भौगोजलक उपििधन (पंिीकरण और संरक्षण) जनयम, 2002 में, पहली अनुसूची की ताजलका में,
जनम्नजलजखत को प्रजतस्ट्थाजपत दकया िाएगा, नामतः-

समय पंिीकृत व्यजि के मामले में, पंिीकरण िुल्क सजहत भुगतान
दकया िाएगा।
कृपया ध्यान िें: इस प्रयोिन के जलए एक वर्ध 1 अप्रैल से िुरू
होगा और अगले वर्ध के 31 माचध को समाप्त होगा।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 3rd November, 2025
G.S.R. 812 (E)— Whereas the draft of certain rules, further to amend the Geographical
Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Rules, 2002 were published as required under sub-
section (1) of section 87 of the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999
(48 of 1999) (hereinafter referred as “Act’) vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of
Commerce and Industry (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) vide number G.S.R.
542 (E), dated the 11th August 2025, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3,sub-section (i)
inviting objections and suggestions from all person likely to be affected thereby before the expiry of a
period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the Gazette containing the said notification were
made available to the public;
And whereas, copies of the said notification were made available to the public on the 11th August
2025;
And whereas, the objection and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said draft
rules have been considered by the Central Government;
Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 87 of the Geographical Indications of
Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999, (48 of 1999), the Central Government hereby makes the
following rules further to amend the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection)
Rules, 2002, namely: -
RULES
1. Short title and commencement.: — (1) These rules may be called the Geographical Indications of
Goods (Registration and Protection) (Amendment) Rules, 2025.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Rules, 2002, for the FIRST
SCHEDULE, the following Schedule shall be substituted, namely: —
