From 21 September 2026, manufacturers and packers of soap, shampoo, toothpaste and other cosmetics or toiletries must show a green dot for vegetarian origin, or a red or brown dot for non-vegetarian origin, at the top of the principal display panel. The Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Fourth Amendment Rules, 2026 also remove sub-rule (8) of rule 6.
The Gas Cylinder (Third Amendment) Rules, 2026 allow approved mobile units to dispense CNG or CBG into motor vehicles or specific equipment. The rules set ownership conditions for city gas distribution companies and licensees, and require emergency shut-down systems, safety distances, physical barriers and operating records.
From 24 September 2026, an offshore mineral auction can proceed with two qualified bidders instead of three. The Offshore Areas Mineral (Auction) Amendment Rules, 2026 make that change in sub-rules (8), (9), (10) and (12) of rule 9.
From 24 September 2026, linear alkyl benzene, N-paraffin and carbon black feedstock may be received and stored in coastal regulation zone areas other than CRZ-IA. The change amends Annexure 2 of the CRZ Notification, 2019.
