सा.का.नि. 826(अ).— केन्द्रीय सरकार, विधिक मापविज्ञान अधिनियम, 2009 (2010 का 1) की धारा 52 की उपधारा (2) के खंड (ञ) और (थ) के साथ पठित उपधारा (1) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, विधिक माप विज्ञान (पैकेज में रखी वस्तुएं) नियम, 2011 का और संशोधन करने के लिए निम्नलिखित नियम बनाती है, अर्थात् :-

1. संक्षिप्त नाम और प्रारंभ - (1) इन नियमों का संक्षिप्त नाम विधिक माप विज्ञान (पैकेज में रखी वस्तुएं) चौथा संशोधन नियम, 2026 है।

• (2) ये राजपत्र में उनके प्रकाशन की तारीख को प्रवृत्त होंगे।

2. विधिक माप विज्ञान (पैकेज में रखी वस्तुएं) नियम, 2011, के नियम 6 में,––

• (i) उप-नियम (4क) के, खंड (ग), के पश्चात, निम्नलिखित खंड अंतः स्थापित किया जाएगा :––

  “(घ) साबुन, शैम्पू, दंत मंजन, अन्य श्रृंगार एवं प्रसाधन सामग्रियों के मामले मे, उसके प्रधान संप्रदर्शन पैनल के सबसे ऊपर मांसाहारी उद्भव के उत्पादों के लिए यथास्थिति लाल या भूरी बिंदी और शाकाहारी उद्भव के उत्पादों के लिए हरी बिंदी होगी।”;

• (ii) उप-नियम (8) का लोप किया जायेगा ।

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 21st September, 2026

G.S.R. 826(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) read with clauses (j) and (q) of sub-section (2) of section 52 of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 (1 of 2010), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, namely:––

1. Short title and commencement.–– (1) These rules may be called the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Fourth Amendment Rules, 2026.

• (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, in rule 6,––

• (i) in sub-rule (4A), after clause (c), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:––

  “(d) in the case of soap, shampoo, tooth paste, other cosmetics and toiletries, a red or, as the case may be, a brown dot for products of non-vegetarian origin and a green dot for products of vegetarian origin, at the top of the principal display panel.”;

• (ii) sub-rule (8) shall be omitted.
