The Ministry of Labour and Employment extends the application of the Code on Social Security to four districts in the State of Meghalaya. These districts are West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, and East Jaintia Hills. The provisions of the Code apply to these areas starting from 01 April 2026. This update follows the publication of notification S.O. 1649(E) in the Gazette of India.
