The Employees' State Insurance Corporation has granted a one-time relaxation for employees who failed to exercise their option for medical facilities within the time limits prescribed by the Headquarters letter dated July 29, 2024. Controlling authorities are directed to solicit these options from eligible employees within one month of the date of calling for such options. This measure is strictly a one-time exception and will not serve as a precedent for future requests. The option exercised will take effect from the month following the submission. Controlling authorities are mandated to ensure future compliance, including informing new or transferred staff of their options and maintaining proper records, as any further lapses will be viewed seriously.

Madam / Sir,
Attention is invited to Headquarters letter No. D-13011/2/2022-E.IV dated 29.07.2024 vide which all the existing/newly recruited / transferred employees were provided with the facility of exercising the option / change of option for availing medical facilities with in a prescribed time limit.
In this regard cases from certain offices are being received at Headquarters regarding non exercising of options in the prescribed time limit and seeking relaxation in this regard. Hence, it appears that the concerned offices & employees has shown their lack-lusture to comply with the above Hqrs instructions. However, not to cause any hardship to the concerned employees, the competent authority has decided that :-
As a special case, all the employees who could not exercise their option within the prescribed time limit in pursuance of hqrs. instruction dtd. 29-07-2024, will be provided with a one-time relaxation to exercise their option again. Accordingly, the controlling authorities are hereby directed to call for option from all such employees with in one-month from date of calling of option.
This relaxation is purely a one-time measure and shall not be treated as a precedent. No further request for relaxation or extension of time in such cases shall be entertained in future.

The option exercised will be applicable from the month subsequent to that in which the option was exercised.
