Subject: One-time relaxation for exercising option for availing
medical facilities – Strict compliance with Headquarters letter
dated 29.07.2024.
Madam / Sir,
Attention is invited to Headquarters letter No. D-13011/2/2022-E.IV
dated 29.07.2024 vide which all the existing/newly recruited /
transferred employees were provided with the facility of exercising
the option / change of option for availing medical facilities with
in a prescribed time limit.
In this regard cases from certain offices are being received at Headquarters regarding non exercising of options in the prescribed time limit and seeking relaxation in this regard. Hence, it appears that the concerned offices & employees has shown their lack-lusture to comply with the above Hqrs instructions. However, not to cause any hardship to the concerned employees, the competent authority has decided that :-

As a special case, all the employees who could not exercise their
option within the prescribed time limit in pursuance of hqrs.
instruction dtd. 29-07-2024, will be provided with a one-time
relaxation to exercise their option again. Accordingly, the
controlling authorities are hereby directed to call for option from all
such employees with in one-month from date of calling of option.

This relaxation is purely a one-time measure and shall not be
treated as a precedent. No further request for relaxation or
extension of time in such cases shall be entertained in future.

The option exercised will be applicable from the month subsequent
to that in which the option was exercised.

All Controlling Authorities are also directed to ensure strict
compliance of the Headquarters letter dated 29.07.2024. It shall
be the responsibility of the concerned Controlling Authority to
ensure that:
- every newly appointed/transferred employees is duly informed
of the available options regarding medical facilities at the time
of joining;
- the prescribed option form is obtained within the stipulated
period of one month;
- proper records are maintained regarding the exercise of
option; and
- no proposal seeking relaxation of the prescribed time limit is
forwarded to Headquarters in future.
- Any lapse in ensuring compliance with the instructions contained in
Headquarters letter No. D-13011/2/2022-E.IV dated 29.07.2024
shall be viewed seriously and the responsibility shall rest with the
concerned Controlling Authority.
