xxxGIDHxxx xxxGIDExxx असाधारण EXTRAORDINARY भाग II—खण् ड 3—उप-खण् ड (i) PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (i) प्राजधकार से प्रकाजित PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY सड़क पररवहन और रािमागग मंत्रालय अजधसूचना नई दिल्ली, 20 अप्रैल, 2026 सा.का.जन. 298(अ).— केन्द्रीय मोटर यान जनयम, 1989 का और संिोधन करने के जलए प्रारुप जनयम मोटर यान अजधजनयम, 1988 (1988 का 59) की धारा 212 की उप-धारा (1) के अधीन यथा अपेजित रुप से भारत सरकार के सड़क पररवहन और रािमागग मंत्रालय की अजधसूचना संख्या सा.का.जन. 76 (अ), दिनांक 30 िनवरी, 2026 द्वारा भारत के रािपत्र, असाधारण, भाग-2, खंड 3, उपखंड (i) में, उससे प्रभाजवत होने की संभावना वाले सभी व्यजियों से आपजि और सुझाव आमंजत्रत करते हुए उस तारीख से तीस दिन की अवजध की समाजि से पूवग जिसको उि अजधसूचना वाले रािपत्र की प्रजतयां िनता को उपलब्ध कराई थीं, प्रकाजित दकए गए थे; और, दिनांक 30 िनवरी, 2026 को उि रािपत्र अजधसूचना की प्रजतयां िनता के जलए उपलब्ध करा िी गईं थी; और, उि प्रारूप जनयमों के संबंध में िनता से प्राि आपजियों और सुझावों पर केन्द्रीय सरकार द्वारा सम्यक रुप से जवचार दकया गया है; अतः अब, केंरीय सरकार मोटर यान अजधजनयम, 1988 (1988 का 59) की धारा 64 और धारा 211 द्वारा प्रिि िजियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, केंरीय मोटर यान जनयम, 1989 को और संिोजधत करने के जलए जनम्नजलजखत जनयम बनाती है, अथागत्: -

1. संजिप् त नाम और प्रारंभ - (1) इन जनयमों का संजिप् त नाम केन्द्रीय मोटर यान (पााँचवााँ संिोधन) जनयमावली 2026 है। (2) ये जनयम अजधसूचना के प्रकािन की तारीख को प्रवृि होंगे।
2. केंद्रीय मोटर यान नियम, 1989, के नियम 81 की सारणी में, क्रम संख्या (11 क) के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में, - (i) मद (घ) की, उप-मद (2) के स्ट्तंभ (3) में, "पााँच हजार रुपये" प्रनिनि के स्ट्थान पर "दो हजार पााँच सौ रुपये" प्रनिनि रखी िाएगी; (ii) मद (ङ) की, उप-मद (2) के स्ट्तंभ (3) में, "पााँच हजार रुपये" प्रनिनि के स्थाि पर "दो हजार पााँच सौ रुपये" प्रनिनि रखी जाएगी । [फा. सं. आरटी-23013/8/2025-टी] महमूि अहमि, अपर सजचव रटप् पण: मूल जनयम, अजधसूचना संख्या सा.का.जन. 590 (अ), तारीख 02 िून, 1989 द्वारा भारत के रािपत्र, असाधारण, भाग II, खंड 3, उपखंड (i) में प्रकाजित दकए गए थे और अंजतम बार अजधसूचना संख्यांक सा.का.जन. 112 (अ) तारीख 4 फरवरी 2026 द्वारा संिोजधत दकए गए थे।

MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 20th April, 2026.

G.S.R. 298(E).— Whereas the draft of certain rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, was published as required under sub-section (1) of section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, number G.S.R. 76(E), dated the 30th January, 2026, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby before the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public; And whereas copies of the said Gazette notification were made available to the public on the 30th January, 2026; And whereas the objections and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said draft rules have been duly considered by the Central Government. NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of powers conferred by section 64 and section 211 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, namely: -

1. Short title and commencement. -- (1) These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2026.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, in rule 81, in the TABLE, against serial number (11A), in column (2), - (i) in item (d), in sub-item (2), under column (3), for the entry "Five thousand rupees", the entry " Two thousand five hundred rupees", shall be substituted;
