उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य और सार्विजिक जर्तरण मंत्रालय (उपभोक्ता मामले जर्भाग) अजधसूचिा िई दिल्ली, 3 िुलाई, 2026

सा.का.जि. 568(अ).— केंद्रीय सरकार, जर्जधक मापजर्ज्ञाि अजधजियम, 2009 (2010 का 1) की धारा 52 के उप-धारा (2) के खंड (ग), (च), (ि), (झ) और (ध) के साथ पठित उप-धारा (1) द्वारा प्रित्त िजक्तयों का प्रयोग करते हुए, जर्जधक मापजर्ज्ञाि (साधारण) जियम, 2011 का और संिोधि करिे के जलए जिम्नजलजखत जियम बिाती है, अथावत्:-

1. संजिप्त िीर्वक और प्रारंभ -- (1) इि जियमों का संजिप्त िाम जर्जधक मापजर्ज्ञाि (साधारण) चौथा संिोधि जियम, 2026 है । (2) ये रािपत्र में इिके प्रकािि की तारीख को प्रर्ृत्त होंगे।

2. जर्जधक मापजर्ज्ञाि (साधारण) जियम, 2011 में,- (i) सातर्ीं अिुसूची में, िीर्वक-क के, भाग-2 के, अिुच्छेि 9 के, उप-अिुच्छेि (2) में खंड (ii) के स्ट्थाि पर जिम्नजलजखत खंड रखा िाएगा, अथावत्:-

“(ii) सत्यापि में मािक तोल का प्रजतस्ट्थापि: (क) उपयोग के स्ट्थाि पर उपकरणों का परीिण करते समय, मािक भार के प्रजतस्ट्थापि में दकसी अन्य जियम भार का उपयोग दकया िा सकेगा, परन्तु अजधकतम िमता के आधे से कम मािक भार का उपयोग िहीं दकया िाएगा। (ख) िहां पुिरार्तविीयता त्रुठि 0.3e से अिजधक है, मि (क) के अधीि अपेजित मािक भार के जहस्ट्से को अजधकतम िमता के एक जतहाई तक कम दकया िा सकेगा। (ग) िहां पुिरार्तविीयता त्रुठि 0.2e से अिजधक है, मि (क) के अधीि अपेजित मािक भार के जहस्ट्से को अजधकतम िमता के पांचर्ें जहस्ट्से तक कम दकया िा सकेगा। (घ) पुिरार्तविीयता त्रुठि अर्धाठरत करिे के जलए, लोड ठरसेप्िर पर लगभग उस माि का भार ,चाहे र्ह बाि हो या कोई अन्य जस्ट्थर भार ,तीि बार रखा िाएगा जिस पर प्रजतस्ट्थापि दकया िाता है।“;

(ii) बारहर्ीं अिुसूची में, क्रमांक 2 के सामिे, "5,000 रुपये " अिरों और अंकों के स्ट्थाि पर, " 50,000.00 रुपये " अिर और अंक रखे िायेंगे।

ठिप्पण:- मूल जियम, भारत के रािपत्र, असाधारण, भाग-2, खंड-3 , उप-खंड (i) में संख्या सा.का.जि.71(अ), तारीख 7 फरर्री, 2011 द्वारा प्रकाजित दकए गए थे और संख्या सा.का.जि.175(अ), तारीख 12 माचव, 2026 द्वारा अंजतम संिोधि दकया गया था ।

MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION (Department of Consumer Affairs) Notification New Delhi, the 3rd July, 2026

G.S.R. 568(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) read with clauses (c), (f), (h), (i) and (s) of sub-section (2) of section 52 of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 (1 of 2010), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Legal Metrology (General) Rules, 2011, namely:–

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Legal Metrology (General) Fourth Amendment Rules, 2026. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Legal Metrology (General) Rules, 2011,- (i) in the Seventh Schedule, in Heading-A, in Part II, in paragraph 9, in sub-paragraph (2) for clause (ii), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:-

"(ii) Substitution of standard weights at verification: (a) When testing instruments at the place of use, any constant load may be employed in substitution of standard weights, subject to the condition that standard weights of not less than one half of the maximum capacity shall be used. (b) Where the repeatability error does not exceed 0.3e, the portion of standard weights required under item (a) may be reduced to one third of the maximum capacity. (c) Where the repeatability error does not exceed 0.2e, the portion of standard weights required under item (a) may be reduced to one fifth of the maximum capacity. (d) The repeatability error shall be determined with a load, whether consisting of weights or any other constant load, of approximately the value at which substitution is made, by placing such load three times upon the load receptor.”;

(ii) in the Twelfth Schedule, against Sl No. 2, for the letters and figures “Rs. 5,000”, the letters and figures “Rs. 50,000.00” shall be substituted.
