What changed

The Employees' Enrolment Campaign, 2026, allows employers to enroll eligible employees who joined between 1 April 2009 and 31 March 2026 but were not previously covered. Employers must generate a Universal Account Number for each eligible employee using face authentication on the UMANG application. Employers must pay contributions through an Electronic Challan-cum-Return and submit declarations via the online portal. The campaign waives the employee share of contributions if not previously deducted. Employers must pay interest for the past period and administrative charges. Declarations based on misrepresentation or suppression of facts are void ab initio. The campaign remains operational until 31 October 2026.
