What changed

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation clarifies that promotions within the Data Entry Operator cadre must have prospective effect from the date of assumption of charge. The initial fitment benefit on a notional basis is a one-time provision and does not entitle officials to subsequent notional or retrospective benefits. Field offices must ensure that all future promotions follow recruitment rules and occur only against sanctioned, available vacancies. Offices that granted retrospective promotions outside the initial fitment proviso must review these cases and take corrective action.
