Subject:- Notice for Conducting the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination for promotion to the post of Section Officer - Regarding.
Sir/Madam,
Kind reference is invited to this officer letter no. A-45013/7/2022-EXAM/910 dated 18.03.2026 wherein notification for conduct of LDCE for the post of SO was issued.

As per the said notification, the following eligibility was mentioned to appear for LDCE for the post of Section officer (as per existing RR for the post of Section officer):-

Assistants of Employees' Provident Fund Organisation having five years regular service rendered in Level-7 in the Pay Matrix [Rs.44900 - 142400] in the grade
However, some of the candidates, who were not eligible as per the existing RR, filed an OA No. 1346/2026 before the Hon'ble CAT Delhi Bench requesting to allow the Applicants to appear in the SO LDCE 2026 and consider their candidature for promotion to the post of Section Officer.
- Hon'ble CAT vide interim order dated 13.04.2026 has directed the following:-
the respondents are directed to provisionally allow the applicants to participate in the LDCE 2026 examination subject to the outcome of the OA, however, the result of the applicants shall be kept in a sealed cover and would not be declared without the leave of this Tribunal.

Accordingly, the matter was placed before the Competent Authority, which has provisionally allowed the applicants to appear in the said examination subject to the outcome of the present OA.

It has been decided that the portal of IBPS for filling up the online application will be reopened for two days from 21.04.2026 to 22.04.2026. All the applicants who have filed OA No. 1346 of 2026 before Hon'ble CAT Principal Bench Delhi may apply for the examination by submitting the application form online.

The applicants after filing the application form will forward the PDF of duly filled application form by 23.04.2026 to rpfc.exam@epfindia.gov.in by 03:00 P.M.
