CIRCULAR
Subject: Extension of the due date for filing of the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) for wage month December, 2025 - reg.
In continuation of the circular dated 15.01.2026 regarding the extension of the due date for submission of returns, and in view of persistent technical difficulties in filing returns, it has been decided by the competent authority to further extend the due date for submission of ECR for the wage month of December, 2025 by a further period of two (02) days, i.e., up to 22.01.2026.
It is reiterated that this extension is being granted as a special measure to the employers, as grace period to file the returns. It is further clarified that no interest or damages shall be levied for ECRs and payments made within the extended due date. However, when additional timeline expires on $23^{\text{rd}}$ of January 2026, the default shall be counted from 15th i.e. for eight days.
